The Joys of Flexibility
Perhaps the most over-looked area of fitness today has to do with mobility and flexibility. While many trainees are willing to throw themselves into training with a great deal of drive they seem unable to put the time into their mobility. Those that do stretch, often do so poorly. The lack of knowledge and mis-application of stretching technique results in few gains, and in some cases even injury.
Our group classes and personal training has a strong focus on effective warm-ups and cool-downs. We consider it essential in ensuring the maximal gains from training sessions. Beyond the work that we do with our clients, Irrational also partners with Trained Mobility which runs weekend seminars focused on joint mobility, and soft tissue flexibility. Their seminars have provided much of the back-bone for our flexibility and mobility work, and all of our trainers have at least a Level I PSF certifications.
For those who are interested in dedicating more time to flexibility, we do offer sessions dedicated soley to mobility. If your interest extends beyond one-on-one sessions we highly recommend the seminars with Trained Mobility.
